Breakthrough!!!

Made a major breakthrough in researching Ox Tales today. It turns out it was based on a Dutch comic strip by Wil Raymakers and Thijs Wilms and was originally called "Boes". From the scans I've seen, the comic strip had a wicked, sick sense of humour. It contained stuff that would have never made it onto kids TV! I'm looking forward to seeing if I can lay my hands on any of the comic strips or merchandise.

The show ran for 52 thirty minute episodes. It was a Dutch/Japanese co-production and was syndicated in 10 different countries. Here is a list of it's several different names:

げらげらブース物語 (Japanese)
مغامرات بسيط (Arabic)
Boes (Dutch)
Boes Boes (Dutch)
Chuckling Bus Story of Boes
Fantazoo (Italian)
Funny Farm Madness
Geragera Bus Monogatari (Japanese)
Ollie Ollie Oxen
Story of the Geragera Bus
BOF! (French)
